THE COMPETITION
Every May Day long weekend, the Katherine Game Fishing Club hosts their premier event that attracts upwards of 300 anglers – The Big Horse Creek Barra Classic! This year marks the clubs 36th Anniversary of this renowned family fishing event and we are striving to attract over 400 competitors.
In 2023, we had 317 entrants including 91 junior anglers with a total of 91 teams. The May Day weekend snapped up 411 Barramundi which were released back into the mighty Victoria River. The biggest catch of the weekend was a whopping 102cm and was caught and released with the winner claiming the premier prize of $4,000.00 cash.

Enhanced Accountability: With Track My Fish, every catch you log is accompanied by metadata including the date, time, and location of the catch. This new feature helps ensure fairness and transparency by reducing the potential for discrepancies and cheating.
